Are BBQ pellet bags air/water tight?

No, BBQ pellet bags have micro holes to let air escape allowing the bag to stack flat on a pallet. If they didn't have holes, it would be like stacking water balloons and be very unstable.

B. How are the Pallets put Together at the Lumber Jack Plant?

Here's how Lumber Jack pallets are built at the factory.

Empty Heavy Duty four-way pallet is set out. FYI, these pallets are beefed up compared to pallets used for heating pellets.
Thick paper is laid out on pallet as a vapor barrier and to provide basic protection for the bottom layer of bags.
Non-slip bags printed with non-slip ink are interlocked stacked based on the specific varieties for each order.

A protective cardboard barrier is wrapped around the bags and then shrink-wrapped.
Pallet is covered with thick plastic and shrink-wrapped again.

C. Can I mix and match pellets?

Yes. There is currently no additional fee to mix and match pellets. To help address COVID-driven delays due to high-demand, Lumber Jack has implemented a 4-variety maximum per pallet.

E. What does it mean "Hickory Flavored"?

All our flavored BBQ pellets are formulated to provide a mixture of 40% of the flavor wood (Hickory, Pecan, Apple, Mesquite, etc.) and 60% Red Oak base. There 3 reasons for this.

Many species of trees produce too strong a taste for many of our customers (for example, Mesquite).
All wood burns at various heat output levels. Rather than have to adjust the grill for each species the user wants a consistent heat output pellet.
Some woods are very expensive (for example, Mesquite and Pecan). If used in a 100% pellet, the price can be approximately double, putting it out of the range of many customers. We do still make the pricier 100% species BBQ pellets for those that want to blend their own formulas.

F. When it says "Hickory flavored" is there any other wood used other than oak and the flavor wood fiber?

All flavored wood pellets and of course the 100% BBQ pellets are only what is stated on the bag with no other filler fibers such as cardboard or demolition wood fillers.

G. What is the size (dimensions) of a pallet of pellets?

Lumber Jacki Uses four-way pallets to ease delivery and movement of pallets throughout the shipping/delivery process.

Here are the pallet dimensions:

A ½ ton pallet is 27 inches high on a 40 x 48 pallet.

H. Do you use any oils or additives in making your pellets?

We do not use any additives, flavored oils, or scents in making our BBQ wood pellets. What you are buying is 100% hard wood Barbeque pellets
